Fast Forward: Michael Heid*

This art installation is a multi-projection 3-dimensional visual mapping of Robert's playatime.net project.  There will be a truss network with weatherproofed projector chassis, multiple high-end projectors, and a multi-video media server computer.  Many interactive components are available for people to trigger the visuals.. including from iPad and hardware control surfaces. The interactive component will allow people to control the visual look of the physical structure.

Garden of Eden:  Andrew Haan*

A Garden of Eden / Lost City of Atlantis themed sound camp. Dance floor decorated in earthy/tribal, flowing art, plants, and soft lighting, with the stage designed as a crystalline, futuristic city, with black lights, harder-edged UV-active psychedelic artwork, lasers, psy-string art, and of course, the sound system.

Human Carcass Wash:  Dawg *

Human body wash …yes! After a hard day of burning what better way to wash those cares away.  Step through our human powered scrub down and wash, rinse those default blues away and a quick pat down you are on your way to a squeaky clean refreshing burn

Photobooth: Frank Roberts*

Participants find a small rain-sheltered structure in which is housed a booth that they can step inside and create a wonderful and unique memory of their BitF experience, alone or with their closest friends.   At a touch of the "Heart Button" the system will automatically capture 4 images in sequence, with beautiful lighting to capture their fabulous selves at their finest.   At night, the booth is enclosed with fabric, offering a more private and secluded experience, and in the daytime the fabric is removed allowing the glorious beauty of the Elaho River to frame their memory.  When manned, the booth will be able to print their photographs onto 4×6" media, and when not-manned (or after the media has run out), the images will be stored to be able to be printed or sent to the participants at a later date.

Photon Vortex:  Chris Harrison*

Photon Vortex is an interactive light show based on a fractal spiral sculpture.  Participants will move their hands over a rack of light cells monitored by motion sensors to make patterns that appear on the main sculpture.  One interactivity mode will be a version of pong where two people bounce a ball of light up and down the spiral.   The sculpture will feature hundreds of addressable LEDs that will be controlled with an Arduino, allowing for infinite color arrangements along the entire piece.  This piece will also generate sound in response to the user generated inputs.  The concept of this piece is to demonstrate possible patterns that subatomic particles may make.

Playa Time Woodburning: BMV CORE Crew*

Represent, Vancouver! Come woodburn your mark on Playa Time Saturday 1-4 PM –

Vancouver is honoured to participate in the first Circle of Regional Effigies (CORE) Project for Burning Man 2011, the largest collaborative art project ever undertaken on the playa. CORE will be a ring of effigies that will surround the Man, each created by artists from within the Burning Man Regional Network. Effigies from 24 regional groups in various countries will be present in the circle, and will burn at the same time on Thursday night of BM. Help decorate the walls of the BM Vancouver CORE effigy, Playa Time, before it heads to the playa in August.

Use woodburning wands (like soldering irons) to draw or inscribe on the cedar siding attached to Playa Time's sides. Bring ideas for small designs or precious words.   Mmmmm, the smell of burning wood….

Potato Cannon French Fries:  Disaster Area Crew*

Potato Cannon French Fries – using an air powered potato cannon we shoot potatoes into something that resembles a giant tennis racket strung with fishing line.  The potatoes are cut, and drop into a vat of hot oil… it's interactive and provides some snacking fun for participants.

 Quadbuki:  Chris Marks*

The Quadbuki is a chauffeured wagon ride/taxi around the BITF site and freelance MOOP patrol.  A very fun way to get around BITF simple and functional and challenges peoples conceptions about those with disabilities.

Slip and Slide:  Allison Eden Andrews*

Giant Slip and Slide from beach to water… come and throw yourself down for the ride of your life!!!

Soliloquy Studio:  Kristina Kearley*

Soliloquy will enrich the event by providing a place where all participants can create their own art. This is immediate and radical participation and self expression. The painting is theirs to keep after the event, or if they choose, they can donate it to the 'Soliloquy Gallery' which is a long term playa project. By donating their art they are making an individual gift to the community project.

Sound Frond:   David Montie, Michael Gove, Marcus Takizawa, Michael Ewert, and others*

Sound Frond is an autonomous interactive sculpture. It is a platform for people to meet and gather — circular benches define a space shaded in the day and lit at night — and to interact and entertain one another.

The shape and form takes natural design cues from plants — the top has palm shaped leaves with solar panels to generate power; willow like veins made of fibre optic cable provide lighting; and satellite dishes inverted like flower petals bounce light and sensors onto the ground.

The sculpture also makes and plays music — two 3 inch speakers and 10 watts of power are crafted for optimum efficiency of sound. Sound Frond also has internal FM receiver it can use to tune in to other locations and reproduce these auditory experiences in conjunction with its own.

SynerG Live:  Trina Barclay and SynerG Group*

SynerG Live! is a participatory performance project intended not only as a home, stage, jam-pad, chill-space, and general hangout for all live performance artists, but also as an effort to bridge the gap between performers and spectators.  Born as "Sonance" at BitF 2009, and renamed for Recompression 2010, SynerG Live! was also present at BitF 2010.

SynerG Live! provides a theme camp venue for GVIAS' numerous performance artists, whether they be musicians, thespians, dancers, singers, jugglers, or comedians. There will be loosely scheduled performances from dusk until dawn, and space for musically and performance geared workshops during the day. With SynerG Live!s open and accepting attitude there will be ample opportunity for would-be performers to chicken-in and get up on stage.

Continuing through our success from last year, SynerG Live! will be broadcasting the domes performances throughout the camp on the FM band.

Tarot Cards and Performance:   Aaron Malkin*

A customized deck of Tarot cards and auxiliary props for a wandering interactive performance art piece. This Seer will tie balloons to your subconscious so it will float to the surface for your transformational delight.

XOX Temple: Little Woo
