LOW INCOME TICKETS

Why do we have low income tickets?

Burn in the Forest is for everyone. However, all sorts of things can make it financially difficult for people to attend this event: some people are unemployed or underemployed, are single parents, have a disability, and so on. We want to help those people out. The low income ticket prices for Burn in the Forest 2012 are $40.

I would like to donate to the low income ticket subsidy fund

Thank you! While we have a limited number of low income tickets allocated in the budget, your extra donations will make it possible for us to offer more people the low income ticket option! If donations exceed the number of requests, funds will be redirected to the GVIAS Arts Fund. You will be able to donate during the registration process.

How are low income tickets subsidized?

The BITF 2012 budget has room for several low income tickets. More tickets will be made available as donations to the subsidy fund come in from the community. Anyone approved for a low income ticket after the budget has been used and prior to additional tickets coming available from donations will be put on a waiting list. Additional low-income tickets will be provided to approved applicants based on the date of their initial application.

How are low-income tickets assigned?

Community members will submit applications for low income tickets. The applications will be evaluated by the Registration Team based on an applicant’s statement of financial need as well as community/event participation.

Confidentiality: Low income ticket applications will be reviewed by the Registration Team and held in confidence.

REFUNDS AND TICKET TRANSFERS

Low Income:

Low income tickets are non-transferable. If you purchase a low-income ticket and then are unable to attend the event, BITF will refund the cost of your ticket and that ticket will go back into the pool so that the needs of other low-income participants can be met.

Please notify us ASAP if you are unable to attend the event so that we can grant someone from the waiting list a low income ticket.

No refunds will be issued after July 7th.

All Other Tickets:

If you purchase a regular ticket and then are unable to attend the event, you must transfer your registration to the new participant. Please save the confirmation email you will receive, as you will be able to forward your link to the buyer who will then be able to update the ticket number with their information. ALL UPDATED NAMES must be on the Door List to gain entry into the event.

No transfers will be issued after July 7th.
