Fire Performance – Performers and Techs

Attention Fire Performers and Fire Techs!

I’m Ty Fawks, myself and my partner Stalking Lynx will once again be this year’s fire show leads. So if you are interested in participating in the fire performance at BitF this year, we invite you to sign up and join in. We welcome performers of all experience levels, so long as you are able to perform safely.

Speaking of safety. We are looking for Fire Techs for the main show. Fire techs are safety personel who stand-by during the performance with a fire blanket to extinguish tools or, if needed, performers. If you have been a tech or would like to (we will have a training class during the event) send me an email to [email protected]

We will have 2 nights of fire at this year’s BITF. Performers must note the following-

It is imperative that you wear FIRE SAFE CLOTHING. Natural fibers only, great examples are…

*Raw silk
*Bamboo/hemp/cotton jersey textiles with less than 5% lycra/spandex

You will not be allowed to perform if you are wearing…

*Lycra/spandex/polyester/rayon sports clothing (track suits, yoga pants etc)
*Anything synthetic that will melt and fuse to your skin in the event that you light yourself up.

You will not be permitted to perform if you are intoxicated in any way.

No exceptions will be made on these topics.

Friday will be a free for all jam, some fuel (pls bring any extra fuel if you have it. Camp and lamp are accepted) and music will be provided. No rehersal necessary but please sign up so we have an idea of how many to expect.

Saturday will be the main performance before the effigy burn. Sign up and rehersal are mandatory to be in the main show. Rehersal for the main show will happen the day of the show from 2 – 4pm. Fuel is provided to us by GVIAS.

We hope to hear from you soon!
