The Temple

As you pack for BITF: You may want to bring something for the Temple at BITF (called “Message in a Bottle”, located on the beach).

This is a sacred space for our community to experience a variety of inner journeying which may include contemplation, meditation, journaling, releasing, healing, honoring of loved ones, intention setting and other types of reflection. It is a place to quietly share and witness our spirits in joy and in grief. (There will be Temple Guardians on shift to provide quiet assistance if you need it) You may wish to bring paper/pen to leave notes about your intentions, prayers or wishes, burnable photos of loved ones who have passed or small burnable symbolic items that you wish to release etc.

Though the temple structure will NOT burn this year – ALL altars and items left in the temple by Saturday night will be put into a burn barrel for the ceremony. You are invited to the Temple Candle-Lighting Ceremony (after the Effigy burn) where the burn barrel will be setup and lit.

Offerings that are not burnable will be available to pick up at exit gate between 12pm-5pm on the Sunday. Anything not picked up by 5pm will be picked up by the Temple Crew and donated.
